Registration Portal for an Agile Event Management Company
Akolade is a leading, Australia based performance enhancing event management company, primarily conducting industry-focused events in the Oceania. The firm delivers in-depth research and puts together leading-edge conferences, training and interactive seminars designed to aid their clients in improving their business bottom lines in various complex and dedicated channels: they include retail, supply chain, public spectrum, healthcare and non-profit.
As event registrations picked up pace over the years, hundreds of thousands of registrations and customers’ data piled up. Akolade realised that maintaining third party registration systems is constraining and is not enough to meet their business needs and it was encountering cost overruns for continued operations. Akolade finally decided to build their own single point registration portal that can channelize all the registrations from their various fora.
StratAgile came up with a .Net + SQL server-based registration portal for Akolade that is primed to support complex set of registrations, run promotion rules such as early-bird discounts, team discounts, promo code discounts, booking package discounts and the like. The system is seamlessly integrated with Hubspot and Zero for sales operation and accounting. To support Akolade’s operations, StratAgile adopted AWS cloud infrastructure. The web servers are powered by load-balanced auto scaled EC2 instances and the database protected by a highly secure RDS instance with real-time and daily backups and encryption; the file system and backups are managed by S3-based storage systems. Thus, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck and the world shifted online in early 2020, Akolade managed to bounce back and be at the action arena with nimbleness and dexterity.
